In the 80's players use to mix and match passive pickup on their guitars.They commonly mix Dimarzio with Seymour Duncan.There are also others brands like PJ Marx,Fury,Reflex etc.If you thinking of pairing EMG85 with Seymour Duncan AHB2.Don't do it!!.The Blackout 2 will shut the EMG85 in middle position.An expensive but interesting discovery to my Tech Journal.
