Yes it is.turn it ON will unleash a loud hum and buzz from the speaker.My first thought prior opening the unit was Caput Transistors.But it turned out the whole area around the power trannies gone too.
Oh my gosh. No wonder you decided not to work on it. I don't think the owner would be willing to pay for all the replacement parts, esp. the power trannies.
Agreed with you Cikgu,Sometime I face dilema confronting problems like this...and to add salt to the injury in some case i had to charge a minimum checking fee due to the amount time spent on it....
from a customer point of view..the quote would be "why do I have to pay for unrepaired work"
