Hello Catherine,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I appreciate it. Today I will write to you as a Malaysian asking help from fellow Malaysian. I am a qualified technician and engineer for the past 17 years. I have repaired many major brands including Roland and Boss. Most of my scopes of work are musical instruments. This was before Roland Asia Pacific(RAP) was established.
The day I found out about RAP, I was thrilled. The thought of having the chance to purchase original parts from RAP wouldn’t be a problem. I thought RAP would practice an open business policy. All that came to an end when I read your last email. It is disappointing that RAP decided not to share the fraction of the pie to us(3rd party repairing group).
Point taken, still my inquiries were met with questions. On to the point, to be honest, I have to say I am disappointed with RAP. The act of trying to patronize, attempt to sideline and deprive us of our sources of income. This will not go well for us, as we are the very same people that has put out good words for Roland and Boss products, old and new.
Here’s my question. Do you know how heavy the Roland JC120 and KC500 are? Does RAP not grateful with the amount of purchase my client has made? With the current economic crisis, could you do the math on the cost of transportation involved? Wouldn’t it be cheaper for the parts to be sent to the amp instead of the other way around. Yet a simple inquiry before hand remains unseen and secretive. Oh yes, would you buy or pay for something without checking the price first?
Buying parts from your rival does not succumb me to such experience. Even Rocktron USA emailed me and attend to my needs. Along side product sales, selling parts to knowledgeable technical people are proven to generate and even boost income and product trust. I’ve never came across with a company that do not want to make sale. I have worked at sharp and found any joe public could walk over the counter and purchase parts. It has even help cut date line time and building good relation with small repair shop. It also gave positive impact on the brand itself.
Finally I hope your company understands that we also want some of the business in order to make a living. Regardless to small shop, individual, part time, full time and etc.
Thank you again Catherine, I hope to get positive feedback when you reply this email.
Thanks,
Yus

"our own service centre" my foot.I sent a keyboard for repair, it collects dust for few weeks, as they don't have any tech working for them!! They rely on 3rd party techs. distrbutor for malaysia and singapore and no repairmen? They don't have any passion

Me like this.

Let the masses know. I got a grief too but not with RAP but Dell.OOT but still in context.

I emailed them and the reply was far from nice.

After that everything just like what someone used to say- kalau baik orang akan beritahu beberapa orang aja, tapi kalau buruk orang akan beritahu semua orang.

Selamat berpuasa Bang Yus.
